Tort – School student – Emotional distress

Where (1) a newspaper published an article reporting that the plaintiff, then a high school junior, had been arrested for underage drinking and (2) the plaintiff brought claims against the city, various school officials and her former chemistry teacher, the court properly dismissed her claims for infliction of emotional distress, her claims of violation of civil rights and defamation against the teacher and the allowance of the teacher’s motion for summary judgment on an assault count.
